The connection between the poems and cartoons
All of the poems and the cartoon that were analyzed in my previous blogs are similar because they describe different feeling that America has experienced. Whalt Whitman's poem describes the feeling of America when it first became known as the melting pot, and the cartoon expresses how America feels currently. Our War on Terror has only brought our nation closer together, and unity is the key element that makes a country stronger.

Hello again!
Clearly, our thought process was on the same wavelength, except for "The Tropics of New York." That is absolutely fine and I feel that now that I understand your perspective as well, I can view the poem both ways. In addition, I feel that your responses and explanations of the poems are clear and detailed, yet concise.
